Hello Everyone,
We finally met with a surgeon at City of Hope regarding implanting a catheter. Mom is a canidate and we have scheduled a December 1 procedure. This implant will allow Mom to drain the build up of fluid in her abdomen at home on her schedule. This would keep Mom more comfortable and ease Dads schedule as well. The medical term for this device is called a 'Pleurx Catheter'. If you are interested you can go to denverbiomedical.com and click on pleurx catheter to become more informed on what we are looking at.
On her good days, our Amazing Mom is still found out and about shopping for misc. Christmas gifts for her loved ones. Her energy and outlook still put me to shame!! We are all looking forward to a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday together. We will be celebrating at my house this year and it looks like everyone will make it! So Mom and Dad will get to see their 3 children, 12 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren!!
Thanks to all of you for keeping Mom in your prayers! Please keep it up!!

F.Y.I.- I'm sure all of you are familiar with the colored wrist bands, pins, and etc. that support a specific cancer. Pink for breast cancer etc. Well cholangiocarcinoma is so rare it does not have a specific color associated with it. However, liver cancer (as cholangio is often called) has the color of emerald green. You can go to choosehope.com and support research for this area.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Bye for now, Michelle
